Times of change and changing times: a study of the relationship between curricular autonomy and teacher involvement and well-being
International Symposium
“Quo tenditis, educatio? School and Knowledge in Professional Contexts”
The Symposium “Quo tenditis, educatio? School and Knowledge in Professional Contexts”. This first initiative will be organized as part of the project Times of change and changing times: a study of the relationship between curricular autonomy and teacher involvement and well-being and will focus on the presentation of its first results.
This Symposium is intended to be the first in a series of events to promote the sharing and discussion of research produced in the field of Education Sciences, particularly with regard to Curriculum Studies, School Organization and Teacher Professionalism.
Its title, in Latin, takes us back to the history of education and the use of the verb Tendere was affirmed by considering not only its meaning of going in a direction, to get somewhere, but above all the sense of insisting or striving to achieve something. It is in this context that we want to question current trends in education: what kind of education do we want for our young people? What assumptions should underpin education? How can the school institution be organized on the basis of defined and accepted assumptions? What role can teachers play? What knowledge should be taught in schools? How can this knowledge be worked on?
Starting from this question, we invite researchers and teachers to join a broad scientific community to question policy makers, organizations, teachers and other educational agents about educational policies and practices.
